Hot Dog! That’s Expensive


If you’ve ever gotten a hot dog at Yankee stadium, you’ve experienced the accompanying sticker shock. Hot dogs, some of the cheapest eats around, are routinely marked up, sometime as high as 850 percent over their grocery store price says an interesting blog post on the Houston Chronicle. Most varieties cost about $.50 straight out of the package, but even from the murky waters of New York’s vendors, you’re in for at least a 200 percent markup.
