Holiday Germ Guide

Bah! Humbug, Washington Post! Just as everyone is getting in the holiday spirit, the paper outline “9 bugs-a-leaping” and the activities to steer clear of if all you want for Christmas is to remain healthy. The first piece of advice is to bring all mail-order food inside as soon as you receive it, and refrigerate the perishable items to avoid stomach discomfort. Buffets are another good place to pick up food poisoning, so avoid if possible. Also: don’t put on a Santa hat (lice); avoid mistletoe (herpes); and give up control of the remote (cold/flu).
