An eighth-grade girl has petitioned Hasbro to make a Easy Bake oven for boys, reports the LA Times this morning. The determined teen has already collected 18,000 signatures on change.org, and says the company’s pink and purple packaging sends a clear message that “women cook, men work.” She says she was inspired to create the online petition after discovering her four-year-old brother attempting to cook on a lamp’s light bulb: “I want my brother to know that it’s not ‘wrong’ for him to want to be a chef.”
