Gun Debate at ‘Tipping Point’

USA Today says the gun debate is now “at a tipping point,” mainly because of the young age of most of the Newtown victims. As President Obama put it in a speech on Sunday:  “Are we prepared to say such violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?” Ideas on the table are a reinstated ban assault weapons,  changes to the mental health system that would help identify those capable of violence, and beefed up school security. Some are calling for more action, including limiting the size of ammunition clips.
