It’s nice to have a plant-filled home. It’s less nice to water those plants every day. The Minneapolis Star Tribune has some advice for indoor gardeners looking for a shortcut. Using something called coconut coir, a by-product of the coconut industry, is one way to cut your watering time, as it hold more water than peat soil. Another idea is to invest in a water globe, which you stick in your plant pot, and it releases water slowly—ideal for those on vacation.
