Gaga Becomes a College Course

Lady Gaga has become so ubiquitous that she’s now being taught at college. The Charlotte Observer says next semester, the University of South Carolina will offer a course entitled, “Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame.” It’s a stretch from professor Mathieu Deflem’s usual course fodder: international policing and terrorism. Deflem has been to 29 Gaga concerts in the last year, traveling all over the world to do so. And he also runs a fan website called gagafrontrow.net . He told the paper “he didn’t think it was a good idea early in his career to mix his personal and professional lives.” Apparently, he’s gotten over that.
