Is Facebook making the high school reunion obsolete? Maybe, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Apparently, there are two schools of thought. The more optimistically nostalgic amongst us think that social media is a boon to the tradition, and by putting us in day-to-day contact with old friends, Facebook actually whets our appetite to see them again. The ten-year reunion is the biggest loser, say industry experts, mainly because the youngest generation possesses the most social media savvy: “Ten years ago, 10-year reunions were our biggest business. Now it’s totally in the tank.”
