Expensive Weather: 12 Storms Top $1B


Our year of crazy weather has set a new record, says the Houston Chronicle. Damage caused by twelve of 2011’s tornados, earthquakes, fires and hurricanes topped the one billion dollar mark. The recent wildfires in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona added two more billion-dollar catastrophes to the list, pushing the total to its new heights.
