Essay on execution of DC sniper

“It’s done now.”  Those are the opening words of a front page essay in the Washington Post, marking the execution last night of sniper John Allen Muhammad.  Writer Paul Duggan says it was the end of a “dark odyssey that began with an unfathomable impulse to shoot strangers at random.”

The main story in the Post describes the execution as relatives of the sniper’s victims looked on.
