Downtown LA to Get Streetcar

Los Angeles is getting something it has long desired—a streetcar. Voters just approved the plan, which boosters say will make driving in the notoriously gridlocked downtown area optional. As one of the project’s developers put it to the LA Times: “The whole concept of being in L.A. and not having to drive to have a whole Saturday or Sunday to experience downtown… It’s really not that far off in reality.”
