Donald Trump Gets Hammered at “Nerd Prom”; Palin Escapes Unridiculed

The Washington Post devotes several pages to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which took place over the weekend. Seth Meyers hosted the annual event, characterized in the Post as “nerd prom.” There was much speculation about what a run-in between Sarah Palin and Donald Trump might look like. But it was Trump who “commandeered all the attention”—and became the butt of many jokes—after Palin decided to skip the dinner. Trump later told reporters he “didn’t think [the jokes] were especially funny, but I’m sure some folks thought they were.”
