DNA the New Data Storage?


Who needs a hard drive when you have a whole body full of DNA? Late last year researchers were able to record Shakespeare’s sonnets and Martin Luther King Jr.‘s “I Have A Dream” speech on synthetic DNA by using the 0s and 1s of digital technology. This opens up the possibility for storing massive amounts of data in tiny spaces, says USA Today, an idea the researchers say they came to over drinks at the bar.
