Cruise Ship Fire Strands Thousands

About 4,000 people are stranded off the coast of Mexico after a fire broke out on a Carnival cruise ship, reports the Houston Chronicle. Running on emergency generator power and without propulsion the enormous boat is just kind floating around as officials make plans to ferry passengers to Mexico for flights home. No was injured but reports on social media say that the ship’s toilets and showers aren’t working, and that some passengers are sleeping in tents.
