According to the Washington Post, the best way to get rid of a hairball from your comb or brush is to compost it. Flushing it down the toilet is the worst. Not only can it clog your plumbing, the sewer companies screen for hair and “other sundry interlopers,” which means it will just take more time and energy for your discarded hair to make it to the landfill.
