China’s New Fashion Model: Grandpa

China has a new “it” girl, says the Wall Street Journal. A former rice farmer, 72-year-old Liu Qianping was catapulted to fame after his granddaughter used him to advertise her struggling fashion line. “He’s just so slender,” says the granddaughter, whose sales have quadrupled since Mr. Liu’s debut. For his part, Liu says he doesn’t mind donning a wig, or wearing lacy green tights to help out his family: “She only has me wear clothes I think look good.”
