Charlie Sifford was “Golf’s Jackie Robinson”


Sports columnist Bill Plaschke has a great interview with 89-year-old Charlie Sifford, the first black man to join the PGA back in 1961, in today’s LA Times. Sifford’s memory has faded a little, but he can still recall his feelings about certain topics, like the Masters: “[Bleep] Augusta.”
