In an attempt to buoy the fluctuating price of lobster, one man is changing things up. He and his wife have reimagined their lobster business based on a model of community-supported agriculture. People can buy a trap for a month or a season and watch as it accumulates lobsters says the Boston Globe. A season guarantees you 40 lobsters but if your trap happens to nab 60, then it’s your lucky day. Traditionally, lobstermen haven’t sold directly to consumers because they say it’s easier to have just one buyer when working with a perishable product.
