Jeff Bauman was waiting at the finish line to cheer on his girlfriend when the first bomb went off. He lost both of his legs in the explosion. The Times chronicles the 27-year-old’s life in the months since, from his dozens of surgeries to his final fitting for prosthetics, where he took his first steps since the marathon.
