Army Discharges Velcro From Uniforms

Velcro has been honorably discharged from US Army uniforms. According to USA Today, old-fashion buttons will replace the traditional fastener. Soldiers fighting in Afghanistan say that they have had trouble keeping the pockets of their pants shut because of all the sand and debris in the country.  Says one insider: “[It’s the] latest proof that dust and debris are the biggest enemy for the U.S. military.” Turns out the switch will save money too, 96 cents per uniform, to be exact.
