Airlines Better at Delivering Bags

At least you get something in return for your $25. According to the Wall Street Journal, airlines have become much more proficient at handling baggage now that customers are paying them to do so, improving the rate at which airlines lose luggage by 38 percent over the last two years. And it’s not just that they’re paying closer attention—the Journal says most airlines have used the added revenue to improve their baggage equipment. But that seems to be only part of the equation. Airlines say that in all honestly, the fact that fewer bags are being check is probably the biggest factor.

I always love an opportunity to link to the Unclaimed Baggage Center, a museum in Alabama that showcases the weird and wonderful things that have found themselves without an owner after a flight.
