86,000 Federal Budget Cutting Ideas


The Washington Post has an article on the “(86,000) budget-cutting ideas that got away.” Apparently, there were that many ideas about how the federal government could save money submitted to President Obama by federal employees. And only 67 were selected. There were many serious ideas discarded—stop giving out paper calendars to government employees who have online calendars; stop letting “every armed service design its own camouflage”—as well as the not so serious, like having the TSA look on airport floors for loose change.
