7.2 Quake Among Strongest in California Region

The 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck about 100 miles east-southeast of the California border town of Tijuana was “one of the strongest earthquakes to strike the region in decades,” reports the San Diego Union Tribune. As with any quake of that size, the paper reports there’s the potential now for California fault lines to be disturbed.
I thought the choice of words was appropriate in the New York Times’ story, which said the quake rattled the nerves of a “seismically sophisticated” California population.
