‘Newsreaders’ Parodies Life of a News Anchor

I can’t tell whether I should be flattered to be the favorite news anchor of a man who makes fun of news anchors for a living. But I can’t help it—Mather Zickel said some very nice things about me while making the rounds to promote his new show, “Newsreaders.” Zickel stars as Louis La Fonda on the Adult Swim send-up of TV news. On the show, Zickel plays an anchor “who’s so full of himself that he really…is unashamed of anything.” In real life however, Zickel cops to being a fan of NY1, describing my ‘In the Papers’ segment as “dryly funny” and “like Soviet news from the ’80s.” Thanks…I think.
