Pat’s iPhone Fails to Ring In 2011

If I hadn’t read that there was a glitch in the iPhone clock on January 1st I likely would have assumed I’d forgotten to turn on my alarm on Saturday. But as it turns out, I wasn’t the only one who had a problem. I was interviewed about my experience by tech writer Nick Bilton for a story in the Monday New York Times. I was in Albany for the inauguration of New York governor Andrew Cuomo. I had plans to get up early and go to the gym before the noon event. But I ended up getting some extra sleep.

UPDATE: Apple had said the programming error only affected alarms set for January 1st or 2nd. But my NY1 colleague Jamie Shupak and others (including PC Magazine) were reporting that the trouble extended to January 3rd.
