The story about Malaysia Air banning babies from first class reminded me of another way airlines cater to their top customers, as depicted in a scene from “Up in the Air.”

Word to the wise: If you’ve purchased a box of Rice Krispies or Cocoa Krispies between June 1, 2009 and March 1, 2010, you are eligible for a free $15. Part of a class-action settlement against Kellogg, the money is available to anyone who fills out an online claim form, verifying under “penalty of perjury” that they did indeed buy a box of Snap, Crack, Pop in the alloted time span.

Last week, I hosted a night of trivia to benefit VH1’s Save the Music Foundation. In addition to a great crowd, great volunteers and some great music from a group of accomplished musicians representing Brooklyn’s PS 58, we managed to raise over $5000. If you happen to be trawling the Tory Burch website today, in search of purses no doubt, you may have stumbled across a surprise: me. There’s a very nice feature up on Tory’s Blog in which I’m described as a “five borough cult figure.” As if that weren’t nice enough, they described my delivery as “sly-meets-dry” before extolling me as a morning must-have for New Yorkers. In return, I offered up a glimpse of my life in the wee hours of the morning.

Today’s Starbucks Alter Ego comes from Lela. She writes: “I haven’t ordered from Starbucks in a while, but was eager to see what they’d come up with for my oft-mangled (yet phonetic!) name. They didn’t disappoint!” They never do, Lela, they never do.

I thought by now my love for the “wee, wee, wee, wee” Geico commercial would be waning. But I saw it again today and it still brings a big smile to my face.
