Texas’ “Pork Chopper Bill” Allows Aerial Hunting of Pigs, Coyotes

Sarah Palin may have picked the wrong southwestern state to buy a home in. The Houston Chronicle says a new Texas law permits feral hogs to be shot from the air, which has created a boon for the helicopter-for-hire industry. Nicknamed the “pork chopper bill,” the recently passed legislation makes it legal for helicopter companies to accept payment from hunters who’d like to do some shooting from on high. Pilots say their biggest concern is being shot by one of their customers: “We don’t want any Joe off the street jumping into my aircraft and starting shooting without some kind of training.”
