Tennessee Makes Sharing Netflix Password a Crime

If you share your Netflix password with friends or family, make sure you don’t do it in Tennessee. The state just passed “a groundbreaking measure” that makes sharing your login information a crime. The Tennessean says while the law is aimed at companies who sell passwords in bulk, it could be used to prosecute individuals as well. Experts say the chances of a family member getting nabbed for sharing a password are slim but a college kid sharing with the whole dorm? That’s a different story. The law goes into effect on July 1 and the entertainment industry hopes other states will follow suit.
