“Praise the Lord and Pass the Syrup”

“Praise the Lord and pass the syrup,” says the Kansas City Star, because the Missouri city is a one IHOP town. A copyright infringement lawsuit filed by the International House of Pancakes has made it clear that we’ve entered a period in our history where pancakes and prayers can’t get along.  The chain restaurant has accused the Kansas City-based International House of Prayers of profiting from their good name.

Both are known from their round-the-clock service says the Star—though ‘service’ for the House of Prayer means a continuous stream of prayers sent via something called God TV. The chain says their decision to sue is based on the church’s recent expansion and decision to start serving food at some of their locations. The church was founded by ” a man named Mike Bickle, who by his own admission grew up in a Waldo bar and claims to have traveled to heaven twice.”
