Don’t Do This At Home: Cheat

What’s worse that cheating on your spouse? Cheating on them in your “marital bed” says the New York Times. According to an informal survey by the paper, more than 50 percent of married women say their relationships would not survive if their husbands were caught cheating at home. Less than a third felt the same way about an affair conducted elsewhere.

Experts say the idea of a marriage bed might seem outdated—but it’s not when there’s infidelity involved. The Times asked lawyers and therapists why someone might choose to cheat at home and the answered varied: “hostility to the partner; a desire to be found out; it’s more discreet than a hotel; it’s convenient; it’s a decision made in a perfect storm of impulsivity, impunity and availability; home is where the nanny is.”
