Cosmic Rays to Blame for Toyota’s Problems?

Granted, it has not been an easy month for Toyota. And the automaker’s troubles have been complicated by the fact that the source of their accelerator problem remains a mystery. So they’ve done the only logical thing they can: blame the cosmic rays. The Detroit Free Press says federal regulators are studying whether “radiation from space” could be the source of Toyota’s problems. Radiation from outer space has been linked to problems with airplanes, spacecrafts and even computers on Earth. An anonymous tipster told regulators that “the design of Toyota’s microprocessors, memory chips and software could make them more vulnerable than those of other automakers.”
