Car Seats Not a Challenge for ‘Houdini Kids’


Houdini’s got nothing on these kids. USA Today says there are some children who, regardless of the many straps tethering them to their car seats, can manage to escape. A recent study of caregivers found that about half had had a child escape from a car seat at least once—and nearly half of the unbucklings happened while the car was in motion. The most accomplished escape artists who those who managed their way out of five-point harnesses; the study found that most often it was boys attempting such routines. Experts suggest to curb the behavior, parents should pull over to the side of the road, warning their kids that the car doesn’t work when they’re not strapped in.
