BP Knew Well Cement Was “Unstable”

The Washington Post has a front-page story this morning about BP using bad cement long before the Gulf of Mexico disaster. A federal investigation found that as early as February, three different lab results showed that the recipe being used was “unstable.” According to the Post, Halliburton, which was conducting the tests for BP, emailed company executives about the problem. Both parties decided to go ahead with the cement pouring, which experts have pinpointed as the beginning of the April 20th disaster.
