Antler Theft

How can you not read this headline: “Deputy Marshals Indicted in Antler Theft.” According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the two officers are accused of stealing another man’s antlers and passing them off as their own. The man making the accusations says he was collecting shed antlers, which male deer get rid of in the late winter, when he found an unusually large pair. He was celebrating his find when the deputies approached and confiscated them. But not before they let the man take a picture posing with them, a gaffe that he calls the “Hail Mary” of his case. Turns out, he didn’t need—the officers in question had been bragging about the antlers to all of their colleagues.
